Akron man dies in Coal Bank Road crash

CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP — A 41-year-old Akron man died following a single-vehicle crash in Wayne County on Sunday at about 12:40 p.m.

Joshua R. Robinson, 41, lost control of his vehicle while driving southbound, crossing two sets of railroad tracks just south of Galehouse Road, according to a release from the Medina County Post of the State Highway Patrol.

Robison was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, according to the release, when he drove off the right side of the road, striking a concrete bridge barrier.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Wayne County Coroner’s Office and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to the Medina State Patrol. The driver was not belted at the time of the crash, the release noted.
