Travis Ray Adkins
Travis Ray Adkins, 41, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away at home due to natural causes. Formally from East Gulf, WV.
He graduated from Independence High School in 1997. Attended Mountain State University for two years. Worked for Walmart Logistics 7016 in Virginia for 17 1/2 years.
Travis enjoyed traveling, mostly to beaches. Travis loved watching movies and going to concerts and video games. Travis loved his job, work family and friends at Walmart Distribution Center 7016.
Travis loved to laugh and make others laugh and to lift people’s spirits up when they were down.
Travis was preceded in death by his father James Howard Adkins Sr; and mother Juanita Blevins Adkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are 7 siblings, brothers Jim (Jenny) of Cool Ridge; David of Josephine, Roger (Sharon) and Jack, both of East Gulf; sisters, Debbie (Dana) Dean of Beckley, Susie (Darrell) England of Coal City and Donna (Jeff) Mills of Green Sulphur Springs; and 6 nieces he considered sisters. Two special friends, Larry Davis and Donnie Bowmaster, both from Virginia. And many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephew and great great nieces and nephews, and many friends and coworkers. And his special cat, Rick.
There will be a memorial service held at Grace and Truth Church, 1316 Coal City Road, Coal City, WV, at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020, and a Celebration of Life dinner following the service.
Family and friends are welcome to come. After the dinner, Travis’ urn will be placed beside his mother and father at Everett Adkins Cemetery at Hick Hollow, Besoco, W.Va.
Officiating will be Elder Arlen England of Coal City, WV.
