Cnooc Plans Higher Natural Gas Production Amid Decarbonization Push

Cnooc Ltd. plans to boost its natural gas production in line with China’s long-term carbon-neutral goals, the oil-and-gas producer said in its 2021 ESG report released Tuesday.

The energy major aims to raise natural gas production to more than 30% of its total output by 2025, tapping on its operations at the deep-sea Shenhai-1 gas field in the south of China.
