Iowa extends ‘Residential Utility Disruption Prevention Program’ – KCHA News

For much of the pandemic, water, electric, and natural gas bills in Charles City and Iowa were being forgiven by the ‘Iowa Residential Utility Disruption Prevention Program’. This deadline has now been extended to December 4th.

Charles City Councilwoman Phoebe Pittman posted about this update on her Facebook:

“The city was notified today that the state of Iowa has extended the deadline for the Iowa Residential Utility Disruption Program to December 4, 2020.  Iowa households experiencing a loss of income related to COVID-19 can apply for up to $2000 in financial assistance if they have incurred unpaid electric, natural gas or water bills between March 17 and October 31, 2020.”
