Consumers Energy inks agreements for power from 3 Michigan solar farms

JACKSON, MI – Jackson-based Consumers Energy has reached agreements to draw power from three solar farm projects in the coming years, potentially adding 375 megawatts of renewable energy to its grid, enough to power 190,000 homes.

The projects are planned for Jackson, Calhoun and Washtenaw counties and will contribute to the company’s plan to eliminate coal as a fuel source by 2025 and reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040, according to a Consumers Energy news release.
