March 9 (Renewables Now) – A subsidiary of Israeli renewables developer Ellomay Capital Ltd (TASE:ELLO) has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 28-MW solar project in Spain to a subsidiary of Greek industrial conglomerate Mytilineos SA.
Ellomay announced the EUR-15.32-million (USD 18.2m) contract between Ellomay Solar SLU and Metka EGN Spain SLU today.
In addition to the EPC of the solar farm, the capacity of which is given in direct current, the contract includes operation and maintenance (O&M) services for two years. Metka EGN is expected to complete works on the project within nine months from receipt of the notice to proceed, which the contractor is expected to receive in May. Early works on the solar farm started on March 1.
Metka EGN is part of Mytilineos’ renewables and storage development business, which has provided EPC and O&M services for over 1.5 GW of solar projects and 400 MW of battery storage projects around the world.
